Found by the Missionaries
Marianna Wyttenbach was baptised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was just thirteen years old. Her mother passed away within the year after. Those were especially difficult times. Years passed, she married, and became a mother to one adopted child - August. When August was about 10 years old, two missionaries approached their home in the mountains and talked to him. They asked him who his mother was. When they learned that they had actually found Marie Anna Wyttenbach Luthy, they were delighted. She had become a "lost member of record." The missionaries invited the family to church and that was the beginning of a new life for the family. As often as they could, they would hike down the mountain very early Sunday morning, catch a train and then a bus to the Biel Branch of the Church. As the years passed, through Marie Anna's efforts and patience, Heinrich and August joined the Church and a dependent branch was begun in their area.
